Day #68
We were on the trail bright and early again this morning. We found a bathroom but of course it didn’t have toilet paper. Still better than nothing I suppose. We crossed a few beaver dams, one of which I swear I almost stepped on a beaver. There was definetly  movement in there. It was a long and cold day but we still managed to hike a 17-18 miles. Just as we were crossing the road and about to enter the area in which we planned to camp a lady pulled up and greeted us by name. It turned out to be Marie Anne (whom we’re staying with on Saturday) and she came bearing gifts. She gave us chocolate, cookies, fresh water, and most importantly napkins since we were out of tp. What a great surprise to end our evening. We said our goodbye and hiked a mile into the woods and set up camp. We ate a hot meal and dried our socks by the fire before heading to bed surrounded by the sounds of geese and owls. It was another great day on the trail with my little sister.

That sounds like wonderufl trail magic from Marie Anne, a lot of good people in Wisconsin. Cannot believe you are almost done, so glad the two of you are sharing part of this experience together. Take Care and stay safe 🙂
